2024 In Review

2024 In Review

2024 was a year of substantial creative growth for me—a journey that began in 2023 and gained even more momentum. In 2023, I entered 31 calls for art, with 28 of them accepted. That year also brought some incredible milestones: I won the design spot for the iHeart Frisco installation in front of the Frisco Discovery Center and was honored as Volunteer of the Year by the VAGF.

Building on that foundation, 2024 turned out to be even more rewarding. I entered 35 calls for art, all of which were accepted, and I won two ribbons along the way. I also stepped out of my comfort zone to try new things. One highlight was participating in the En Plein Air event (where I earned one of the ribbons). I was thrilled to be selected as a featured artist for Art in the Mayor’s Office and took on my first art fair with Art in the Arena—all through Visual Arts Guild of Frisco.

For Art in the Arena, I developed a fun pop-culture art product that helped me start and grow my first newsletter list. I’m excited to officially launch this idea in Spring 2025. If you’d like to stay in the loop, sign up for my newsletter now!

Several of these achievements were on my 2024 goals list, so it feels great to have made progress, especially since I don’t usually consider myself a goals-oriented person. Looking ahead to 2025, one of my major goals is to have my first solo show. While I’m not yet sure how, where, or when it will happen, I can feel it getting closer. I believe I have enough work for the show, but I’m still refining the cohesiveness, structure, and theme.

Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come!
